A round robin for 3 teams has 3 games: each team plays the other 2 once, and 3 × 2 ÷ 2 = 3. With an odd number of teams one team sits out each round, so the schedule takes 3 rounds of 1 game instead of 2, and every team sits out exactly once.

Give each team a number from 1 to 3 (your top seed, or simply the first name on your list, is Team 1) and play the rounds in order. Each round is a single game. The last column shows the team that sits out.

How long a 3 team round robin takes
With 3 teams there is only one game per round, so one court is enough and the 3 games are played one after another: 3 time slots. Multiply by the length of one game, plus a few minutes to change over, to plan the day.
How the schedule is made
Bracket Maker uses the circle method with an empty spot added, so 3 teams fill a circle of 4. Team 1 stays in place, the others move one position each round, and whoever is drawn against the empty spot sits out that round. Teams sit out in this order: 1, 2, 3. After 3 rounds every pair of teams has met exactly once.
Home and away
If one side has an advantage (home field, serving first, choosing ends), give it to the first-named team in each game. Over its 2 games every team is named first exactly once.
Playing everyone twice
